Change the segmentation

After a survey or internal changes, you may want to change the segmentation on Bleexo.

To do this, go to the "Segmentation" tab in the Administration module to find the list of your existing segments and segment types. This is where you can make your modifications.

There are several options available to you:

  • you want to add a new category of segments: to do this, you must create it by entering its name in the New segment type box. It will then be created automatically and you will be able to fill in all the segments that make it up.
  • you want to add a segment to an existing segment type: you must enter the name of the new segment directly in the existing segment type. For example: add the job Assistant in the job segment type.
  • you want to modify/delete a segment or a category: move your mouse over the segment or the type of segment you want to modify, three dots appear. By clicking on them, you will have the options of Change name or Delete.
  • you want to merge two segments together: you will not find the option directly on the platform. To perform a merge, you have to decide under which heading the two segments should be merged and change its name. You will then delete the other segment. You will have to attach all the collaborators to the new segment (see Modifying a user's profile).
Note: All changes to segments are not retroactive:

* If you have created a new segment or segment type, the results of the new segment(s) will only be visible in the next survey. This new segment will not be applicable to past surveys.

* If you have simply made a name change, this change will be visible on previous surveys.

You can also modify or define a segment type as a department. This allows you to define segment managers. They will then have access to the results of the segment(s) in question.

To define a segment type as a department, or to modify a segment type, click on the three dots at top right and then on "Modify":

You will then have access to the parameters, simply check "Is a department" and press "UPDATE":

NB: Certain types of segments lend themselves to this (Department, Location, Job, Agency, Management....) while others are much less relevant (Age, Seniority, Gender...).

Once a segment type has been defined as a department, you have two further options:

  • You can decide that this department is Benchmarkable (Internal Benchmark)
  • You can decide that collaborators will be able to consult the results of their department(s) in the Pulse Collaborator View.

These two possibilities are independent of each other.

NB: choosing a department's parameters (is Benchmarkable and/or Accessible in Collaborator View) allows you to limit the number of options available, and therefore to authorize only those segments relevant to Benchmark and Collaborator View.

Finally, you can set a segment type to "Multi-segment": this will allow you to assign a user to several segments of this type.

Example: In the context of a cross-functional project, I may have to work in both the Sales and Tech departments, for example.

How do I define a segment manager from the segmentation tab?

To define a segment manager, click on the three dots next to the segment name and then click on "Modify" :

You can then add one or more segment managers:

You can also add segment managers using a csv file. By clicking on the 3 dots at the top right of the page, you can export a csv file, fill it in and import it back into the platform:

NB: If you wish to enter "Segment managers", a .csv file must be filled in for each segment type.
